here lately my car has had a rough idle while in lower rpms (1500ish) while im cruising in any gear. ive been ignoring it becase i assumed its just plugs and/or wires. well today on my way to work i tried to accelerate and it just started jumping around and wouldnt go...so i dropped it in Drive at like 45 and it still jumped around and hesitated and the SES light came on. it stopped jumping around a minute later and when i got to work i shut it off and started it back up and there was no SES light. ok good. after work i go to advance to scan and it didnt even work, but anyway.. while he was tryign to get the tool to work the motor would rev to about 2k and down to less than 500 and the tach would go nuts. about 1 or 2 minutes of this and the car just dies and would not restart. the car is now in advance's parking lot until tomorrow when i figure out somethin to do with it. i would really appreciate some input on this situation ps...plugs are 3 years old, and wires and opti are about 2. car now has 119k miles

 

Check all your connection to the opti/ECM/coil.... But it does sound like the OPTI going....

 

From your screen name, appears you have a 93..... are you aware you can pull the codes with a paper clip in the ALDL, flashing the codes on the SES light?

If you don't have a 93, you might want to add a "signature" with the year, trans and major mods, because that is often necessary info to solve some of these problems.
