Car hesitates on the highway

Im doing about 55 on the highway and when I push down on the gas to accelerate, the car just doesnt feel right. The car does not accelerate. The car shakes, almost feels like bumps in the road. Guages say everything is fine. After that happened, i let go of the gas right away, waited a couple of minutes and accelrated again without a problem.

This problem happened once before bout a month ago. Any ideas whats causing this?

thanx!!!

My old third gen had this problem, it threw a code which turned out to be EGR related. Sold the car before I fixed it so I don't know exactly what the problem was.

Check the valve and solenoid to rule them out.

Red face

You're supposed to use atleast 91...

My car did that after a 4 hour trip to Evansville. Then it died the next day... DAMN OPTISPARK.. Ever see 2 backyard mechanics replacing an opti on a dealership parking lot during a snow storm? That had to be the fastest optispark swap ever.. 45 mins later and my car was back to 100%! It's amazing how fast you can work when you're freezing....

Ive been using 89 for the past 3 years, since I bought the car.

I cant even bring the car into the mechanic cuz this problem doesnt happen all the time. Happens only once in a while.

ping... Detonation man. Probably a few batches of bad gas but on the other hand you're not meant to run off any octane lower than 91. Lt1's don't like it
