Car has a surge/miss ONLY when A/C is on, Please help

Car has a surge/miss ONLY when A/C is on, Please help
When I'm driving down the road the car has a surge to it, much like when you meet a 18 wheeler and the wind kinda pulls you back. It only does it with the a/c on. it idles fine with the a/c on its only when driving. thanks, I have a trip to go on tommorrow and i'd like to know she's not gonna die on me
