car has no spark please help looking for shoe box input

ok the car is a 1996 lt1 camaro lots of mods......anyways the problem i am have is there is no spark....i was driving the car last friday night and when i got to the stop light it died, so i started it back up no problems untill saturday morning i was driving the car and it died again so i started it up and it kep doing it all moring untill finally it did not start up and there is no spark any help would be very helpful i was thinking maybe the coil went bad? opti possiblely? i dunno

(i won't get a chance to check this post untill tommorrow night afetr work)

Look on www.shbox.com that will give you some help testing the coil and the optispark.

BTW shoebox and injuneer hate when you put their names in your title. They would rather you pm them, just for future reference.

There is some help on my site, but you can also just check for spark from end of a plug wire. If no spark there, you can check from the end of the coil wire. That should help tell you if your optispark cap/rotor might be a problem.

As far as asking for help from someone in particular, it only limits the response to your thread. There are many knowledgeable people on this board that can help. I am not on the board as much as I used to be.

yes the motor turns over fine some bodies car has had to do this before on here.... thanks shoe box

ok i checked for spark at the coil there was spark there it was blue......does this most likely mean the opti is out?

i w\really want to race this car this weekend please help

If you have spark leaving the coil wire where it plugs to the opti, but no spark on any of the plug wires from the opti, then the rotor is probably shot.
