car is hard to start and misses a little

i am fairly new to the LT1's and my car is hard to start when it is cold and in misses a little also. it seems to run better when it is warmed up though. ay thoughts or have any of you guys had this problem. i put another opti on it and it ran good for about 2 days and then it started doing the same thing. any ideas would be great.

Re: car is hard to start and misses a little

A diagnosis of the plugs condition can give you an indication of the problem. Also depending on the milage and the lack of tune up items being done or replaced can have an influence on the problem.

From what you describe, you have an ignition issue. Such as deteriorating plug wires or plugs. The new opti could have upped the power to these deteriorating parts to the point it was compensating for them and firing better. Now perhaps they have deteriorated to the point that even the opti can't compensate for them. Start with plugs and wires. Then go on to give it the works as in a good tune up. Replace the fuel filter, clean the TB, IAC port and EGR and its port. Replace the TPS and be sure the air filter is clean. You may or may not want to replace the O2s. If so go here:http://store.getgmparts.com/oxygen-sensors.html

Good luck
