Unhappy Car gets hot, hard to start, etc

Since today was the first really hot day in awhile...I discovered that one of my problems still
remains. When it's hot outside, the car is alot more difficult to start, when I turn the key, the
starter keeps trying to start and after about 5 sec or more of turning, it finally kicks on,
sometimes it either doesn't stay on right away, or when it does start the rpms shoot all the way up
to 2000, then it eases back down and resumes 'normal' rpms. Also, when the car gets hot and I am
at a light, there is a feeling of misfires that gets more and more rough as the car gets hotter,
the cooler it runs, the less I feel the misfires. I currently have Delco platinums and Splitfire
Dual Magnecore's, is this because my wires are crap?

I've changed the coil, injectors, opti, fuel filter. Do I need new plugs and wires? Starter? What
do you think? I've brought the car to 2 dealers and a mechanic and none have been able to diagnose.
They did, however, fix my vaccuum leak when the car was revving itself.

Please advise! Thanks!

Perhaps the Intake is suffering from heat soak. Reverse cooling is great for high compression engines but other parts of the motor lose out. Whats the temp gauge doing?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, The temp gauge seems to be operating normally. The fans are kicking on properly, etc. It's just that the hotter the thing gets, the more misses I feel, when it gets cooler, the misses are still there, but are much less 'violent'

What Mods do you have? I would Definately say not your starter if turning the motor over. Maybe your Ignition Module? I would test components before you replace them costs a LOT to diagnose that way. If heat brings on the issue, I'd say it's electronic related.

Just another thought, Unplug Mass Air Sensor to keep car in Open Loop to see if the problem Goes away in Speed-Density

Well I'd start at the ignition coil first too. If that doesn't work, pull out your spark plugs, take a look at them. See if there's any water/ greenish white corrosion on them. If so you might be having a compression issue. That's worst case senario though. A new coil's a more likely suggestion, plus it's cheaper too.
