Question car dying..... dnt know y?

yes i have a 94 z28 just bought it recently its a great car in great shape well maintained but the other night i was driving it and it seemed to want to barely crank over and want to die as if the battery was going dead but it started anyway....so after a few laps in town i decided to go home but ran into my friend with a mustang gt so i held the gas to the floor as i was pulling out beside him and when it seemed about to shift it died....i pulled over and tried to start it and the battery gauge would drop to zero the battery was dead....so anybody have any ideas to y it did this?.....i figured it maybe the battery gone bad or the altenator...the only thing wrong with the car is it has an intake manifold leak which i plan to fix tomorrow..but still i dont see how that would cause this problem...anybody got any ideas?

Get yourself a new batttery and make sure all your terminials are clean. This is definitely the first thing I would do. Rarely does anyone sell a car with a new battery. JMHO

k thanks...would the battery just be going bad or is something in my car draining the juice from it... i thought at first that my altenator may have went out and that it was just running on juice off the battery til it died..but i got a jump off someone else and was able to drive it home fine..i havn't drove it sense then but it really worry's me....

Driving around will not charge a low battery. If the battery is old or even close to the warranty date, it is probably beyond help. Starting with a new, qood quality, battery is the very first thing to do. AutoZone probably has a good battery for a decent price.

Once you eliminate the battery as possible problem, you can move on...JMHO

Yes: I would have the alternator checked out. Should be giving you 14 amps. Your gauges may even tell you something, buts I'd visit Auto Zone and have both the battery and alternator checked out. I bet you need a battery anyway. Let us know.
