Car did a very strange thing today

Today starting my car it started very roughly. Generally the car starts fine but this time I hopped in, turned the key... and it keep trying to "catch" it felt like it was missing... I held the key a bit longer than usual and let go.. and it felt exactly the same but didnt stall.. like it was missing a cylinder. I thought hey, maybe i should press the gas a bit and see what happens.. so (out of habit) i push the brake in getting ready to push the gas.. and as i pushed the brake down the engine surged to 2000 RPM and then stopped missing and sounded complely normal and then returned down to a steady 1000 rpm. My abs inop light came on as well as i did this! I have been getting that light coming on usually during harder accelleration so i'm wondering if its related to that.... Someone please help! i just had this guy rebuilt

check to see if you have any wires touching any part of the headers or in close vicinity to a heat source. I had a similar problem with some wires resting on my headers, moved them and have been fine since.

I was thinking that but why on earth would it do exactly that when i hit the brakes? It was missing consistantly for a good 20 seconds of me doing nothing and just listening to the engine before i touched the brakes, and as i did it immediatly surged and did what i described. How would that explain the abs light too? I'm going to run outside right now and have a quick look, but I need to head to work soon.... Does anyone else have any ideas on what could be the problem?

My car has done a similar thing twice. Usually, turning it off, then restarting it straightens it right out. the only thing i can think of is some funny back pressure, or the computer got confused.

If it came up when the brake pedal was pushed, could it possibly be a vaccuum problem?

Well a day later and it still hasnt done it again. I wonder what it could have been . How do I go about checking for a vaccum problem relating to this? That was my guess initially but i have no idea on how to check for that. It idles fine and doesnt stall out or anything....
