Car Craft dyno tests LT1 bolt ons....
April 03 Paint and body issue....
car = 78 malibu with LT1/4L60E swap.
tested:
1. JBA Power Cables ( plug wires )
dynoed 5 HP and 4 #ft more after adding these....
2. Moroso CAI
picked up 6 HP and 4.9#ft after adding this
3. Granatelli MAF
picked up 6.1HP and 2.1#ft after mod
4. BBK 58mm TB
picked up 2.9HP and 4.6#ft after mod.
" Topping off our induction system is a massive BBK Performance 58mm TB that clearly dwarfs its 48mm factory counterpart. We skipped over the 52mm upgrade since the larger TB wouldnt be detrimental to performance; the mass air meter will correctly meter the incoming a/f ratio. The bigger TB will allow for future upgrades without having to be replaced twice" Car Craft 4/03
since this is a stock H/C car, I think they would have picked up more going with the 52mm, but I can understand and relate to the reasoning behind going with a 58mm TB.
just thought I would share....
