Question Car acts funny

For a couple of weeks now my car has been acting strange.
After about 15 to 30 mins of driving my car it will start to act strange. I will give it a lil gas and it will act like its not getting any and I can feel the car trying to jump forward. While im giving it the gas my RPM gauge will not move it will just stay at what ever it was before I started to press on the gas. After giving it a good bit of gas the car will jump forward and can hear something that sounds like a backfire makes quite a few pops. But when I come to a complete stop it will not sputter like that or if I just put the car in Neutral and rev up the motor it will act normal only when its in gear will it do this. I do not have to be going any particular speed nor do I think it’s in any particular gear kind seems to do it when ever it wants to. Also I can tell when it is about to do this the car starts to feel like the accelerator is less responsive to my foot. Well that’s about all i can think of to describe this. I have read already on a couple of other posts that had a similar problem and they thought it was their OPTI. Is this what is wrong with mine??? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing you have an auto?

Well, it sounds like ignition related.

First try changing the plugs and wires... if it doesn't fix probably your optispark went bad.

(BTW, when was the last time that you changed the fuel filter <= it might be, but to be honest sound like an opti problem )

Use the "search" button and search =>for best place to buy an "optispark"... It can be real expensive if you buy it in you local chevy dealer

Then your fuel filter should be fine. I had the same problem as you, and I finish changing the plugs, wires, opti, and coil.

Now, runs real nice.

I Bet its my opti.
I just remebered that one day I walked up to my car over the summer to go cruse around after i pulled my car out I got out of my car so i could close the garage door and what do i see a very large puddle of Anti freeze. but when i checked my antifreeze levels they were normal. ( had not had the car long yet then and me and my dad just figured that some idot put way to much in it). But the problem im having did not develope for quite some time later. could the coolant have gotten to my opti and messed it up a bit and just caused it to go bad over a long period of time.

Here is another descripiton to go along with the 1st one i gave but with some more/diff information about my problem
Ok so me and my dad went for a drive today in my camaro. Ok if you just drive it like any sane person would you would never think there is something wrong with the car (drove just about 100 miles today never really nailed it just crused around with my girl and drove all around since it was such a nice day today) .Its only if you pump the Gas quite a few times until the problem starts. You will herar the car spark knock once or twice and the rpm guage jump up and down seems like the car is just not getin the gas it needs like its running lean on fuel.. But if your in 1st or 2nd gear the car will run very strong. only in 3rd or 4th will this problem happen (its an A4 if you did not notice ) and its seems to do it at low rmps hmm thats all i can think of at the moment if i think of more i will add it. what could be some things causing this.
