Caprice/Roadmaster Waterpump on an fbody
Caprice/Roadmaster Waterpump on an fbody
Well guys i goofed up. I got a motor outta a wrecked 95 police car which will be used as the base for my 383 for my Trans AM. I took the old water pump, took out the impeller and notched it for my CSI eletric wp and even got her powder coated. As I was lookin at some images i realized the wp i have is diffrent
It doesn't have the hose that leads from the bottom right of the wp for the oil cooler. and it seems the pipe next to the thermostat housing area is point sideways as opposed to up. Will I still be able to use it? OR am i srewed, and have to buy an fbody one, remove impeller, notch it and have it powder coated agian? Post away, thanks.
EDIT: I WILL NOT be running an oil cooler with this setup

You don't need the bypass port on the pump for the oil cooler, but you will have to cap the port on the radiator.
I guess you can just get some hose to adapt the heater hose so it wil go in the right direction (as long as it does not interfere with anything else). I would suggest pulling the pipe out of the pump and putting in the correct one, but some people have had trouble with those pipes coming out on rebuilt pumps. Not sure how secure I would feel doing that.
