Cap and rotor shot?

I have my car in the shop now for not wanting to start when it's wet out. The mechanic calls me and tells me that when he sprays the opti with a water bottle the car cuts out which would be the cap and rotor? If it is the Cap and Rotor I can just get the Delteq and forgot about that damn opti. Also, the water pump is weeping.

I would change your water pump first. I was having some misfire problems and changed my leaking pump (mine was leaking through the bearing) after that, i dried everything off and no misfires and im not running out of coolant on a weekly basis.

i dont think i would want to spray water onto a distributer as a test to see if its faulty.
