Can't finde the crank key

I have recently put in a cam and I can't find the crank key. It looks like there is a notch in my balencer hub for one but it isn't there. I don't know I haven't ever put a cam in before. I am just making sure it hasn't fallen out or something.

Re: Can't finde the crank key

Like he said stock cranks don't have one. A keyed crank hub is usually $75.

Re: Can't finde the crank key

for a n/a motor, not much, most of the time it is a good idea for superchargers that put a lot of torque on the balancer, under extreme conditions the balancer can move on the crank

i have a keyed balancer on my 383 just because i was able to machine it myself for nothing
