Now It could be a number of things so I posted here.. but when we figure out what it is I imagine this will be moved to the appropriate section..

For a while I have been hearing this noise that sounds like its coming from underneath radio (around the torque converter, tranny, long tubes). When I was driving around with the center console removed (doing some wiring) it was louder so its definately coming from somewhere down there. It sounds almost like two pieces of paper rubbing together whenever im on the throttle.. the exhaust noise will cover it up so I dont know if it happens in the upper rpms but it definately does in the lower rpms and it doesnt make any noise when the TC is locked up.

Now yesterday I had to remove my cats becuase one was blown so I just put the old piping in place and clamped it together real ****ty like for the time being as I wait for my new cats to come. So my exhaust is leaking and making a lot of noise obviously. Now since I did that i hear more of a chattering noise that starts around 1500 rpms and continues on from there. I figured it was just my exhaust but it doesnt do it in park.. only when driving.. and it does this noise at lockup as well.

This was probably all very confusing and a lot to take in so I apologize.. if anyone needs me to clerify anything I can. Im just trying to figure out what these two noises are and if they may be hurting anything.

How is the tranny fluid? Full, smell burnt, etc.?
