Can you visually tell the difference between a 94/95 crank hub and a 96/97 crank hub.

I need an answer ASAP as I want to buy one of this guy and I need a 94/95. Is there anything I can ask him to check on it to make sure it is the one I need. Thanks.

Shoebox has a picture here from his 95.

Wing "asiansensation" has a picture of his 96-97 here.

That shows the difference in the balancers, but not the hub itself. I'm not sure if there is a diff in the hub.

The sad part is that I have a 94 and 96, but they are both 154 miles away so i can't really check anymore for you.

I have a feeling thats not exactly what you where looking for, but at least it's TTT.

The 94/95 hub is longer than the 96/97. In 96 they added the crank position reluctor gear to the front of the crank shaft. The hub was shorten so as not to interfere with the reluctor gear. You will also notice that the timing chain cover has a bulge around the crankshaft area to accomodate the reluctor gear.

If your car is a '96, why do you want to use a hub from a '94-'95? Your crank pulley will not line up with the rest of your accessories...I found this out the hard way.

It will if you remove the CPS reluctor ring... I already researched this, you need the 94/95 style hub to use a double roller timing chain. Since the OBDI cars don't use a CPS the hub is slightly longer to accmodate for the reluctor ring. The double roller requires removal of that ring. So to make the accessories line up you NEED a 94/95 style hub.
