As long as you put the cam dowel in the right slot on the back of the opti does the position of the cam/opti matter when putting the opti on?

 

No, as long as the dowel is in the right hole, the opti will be in correct time.

You can, however, get the dowel pin in the wrong slot on the back of the opti, so be careful.

 

Id made sure not to do that shoebox. Is it possible to test the optical portion of the opti to the best of your knowledge? I know its impossible to tell but how often does the optical portion go bad in a opti that is goes bad?

 

Typically, the high voltage section will fail first. However, the optical portion has been known to fail also.

Well I was having high RPM misses so Im guessing the high voltage portion was on its way out. I wanna see if my opti is salvagalbe to use with the new delteq unit...
