Re: Can you Manually Check the Engine light?

You can only check it with a paper clip for the 93 model F-Body LT1.

For 94 it requires an OBDI scan tool.
For 95 it requires an OBDI scan tool with OBDII connector.
For 96+ it requires an OBDII scan tool.

I've seen OBDII code readers from places like Harbor Freight on sale for $40 but all they do is read codes.

I also believe that Autozone can test OBDII's and since your 95 will have an OBDII connecter, they can snap on their tool but it wont do anything. It tricks alot of those guys.

Re: Can you Manually Check the Engine light?

Once again, you've started a new thread.... and asked a question that you already have in two other places. All you are doing it irritating the people who are best equipped to help you. I tried to explain this to you politely (and at least one other person explained it to you rather impolitely). Again, I would suggest that you keep all the questions related to your SES light problem on one thread. That saves people the time of posting an answer that duplicates what someone has already answered in the original thread. You don't improve your chances of getting a ***CORRECT*** answer by shotgunning the same qustion all over the place.

nonamez28, Injuneer has some very good points. It makes people like me who didn't see your other posts now feel like I wasted my time because this has already been answered elsewhere.

Re: Can you Manually Check the Engine light?

read my other posts...... (even though i understand what he is trying to say as well) i talked about the SES light, but i didnt know if it was possible to check it manually, and that was never brought up...

but also if you think about searches, if people search for this now, they will have an answer quickly, and wont spend alot of time search through other topics, with titles that are not even about what they hve to talk about..

no all of you guys say search first and then ask questions, and i agree..... but with this now if someone searches, they will find the answer, and in the long run there will be less posts...

this will help, imo

Re: Can you Manually Check the Engine light?

The "search" function searches both the topic and the body of the messages.

I've given you my opinion... you can go ahead and split these posts up and scatter them all over the place -that's your privelage. From my 7 years of experience on this board, you will screw yourself with this approach. I told you this in a sincere attempt to help you get your questions answered in the most efficient and accurate manner.

You are pi$$ing off the wrong people with this approach, but that's your choice..... I'll leave your posts alone, so I don't rile you up any further.
