Angry Can you install the optispark wrong so it misses?

is it possible I got a tune up from the mechanic about 2 weeks ago, my fiance has been driving the car to work since its shorter for gas milage, I used the car this weekend and it missed pretty badly at stopped little throttle....when you go about 1K it starts skipping, almost like its cutting out or something...every 1-2 seconds..and then sometimes it will skip constantly one after another then go back to normal idle for 2 seconds...this is when the car heats up..when you punch it or leave it at normal idle it sounds normal..nothing wrong...its just when I give it enoguh gas and brake to almost make the tires spin that it does it.

is it something they did in the tune up? coil? wires? plugs? stuff like that? I want to know so when he calls I can tell him that this is that and its messed up! I am pissed..

its possible the opti could be bad out of the box, my friend and I just changed out his 2nd opti in 1k miles because of a hesitation and then the car just died. The opti part wasn't firing the injectors correctly and then not at all, when we pulled the opti out it was a $300 baby rattle. The new one is in and the car is running perfect.

thanks for the reply...what I forgotto mention was the time I went to pick up the car It would not start, it would turn over idle like crazy then stop..turn the car over again same thing.we took it into a bay found a loose wire and tightened everything up and it ran fine.he said sometimes the PCM has to get farmiliar with the new parts...????I took it down the street and then it started dying on me..and then was fine dying then fine about 10 min of this I brought it back..they took it overnight and drove it the next day for 20 min did nothing to the car but drive it and they said it was fine..WTF??? so now this..I would of known of it sooner if I was drving the car but I am not, so Im not sure...

If they changed your wires, maybe they messed up the routing and you have a burned plug wire. This would cause your car to miss, but not to die.

If wires were put in the wrong place or if one was burnt, the engine would run like crap in all rpm ranges.
