can you clean 02 sensors

can you clean 02 sensors

if you remove the 02 sensors can you clean them, if so with what? car has allways run a little rich thought i'd take em out and clean them if needed. not alot of miles on them

The sensing elements are surrounded by a metal shield with tiny slots. Not sure how you would clean them.

I've cleaned the soot out of them with brake cleaner before. Just make sure they're not hot and let em dry out after. It won't fix your problem btw and it's best to not mess with them unless they're cycling very slow when warmed up. What makes you think it's running rich anyway?

had a bad opti, they have carbon on them and back when the opti was bad the plugs were carboned as well, fixed the problem and got a tune
