Most wiper arms are on splined drive shafts. The splines are fine enough that moving the arm one spline is a couple of inches movement at the tip of the blade.
The trick is getting the arm off. With most arms you have to releive the spring presure which holds the arm against the windshield. If the arm will flop back that's good. There is probably and attaching screw holding the arms onto the splined drive shafts, which may be covered by a small cap. Remove the cap and the screw then wiggle the arm off the spline. Relaign it and reverse the procedure.
In some cases there may be a missing tooth in the spline so that tha arm it then keyed and can only go on one way. That presents a bigger problem.
Good luck.
