can vats cause a missfire?

I been having problems with the vats on my 93 ta. There is a shortage somewhere under the glove box. The security light would not come on at all and the car would not turn over. I wiggle the wires under the glove box and the car cranks. Is it possible that the computer losses the fuel injector signal from vats and cause a miss? Also i pulled the codes today and got 33 and 46. 33 is map sensor and 46 is vats.

I believe the VATS only affects the starter system and not the injectors. VATS will keep a car from starting with the wrong key but won't shut down a running car..

VATS will not cause a miss.

Re: can vats cause a missfire?

Ok thanks. I was just wondering because both codes popped up at the same time. I also got a bad missfire for a few seconds. I had the same random missfire a while back, but swapped out the opti, coil, icm, map, air temp. Sensor, plug wires, injectors, and fpr. I guess it wasn't none of those causing it.
