Can only run one knock sensor..

Hey guys,
I am running a Painless Wiring harness on the LT1 in my '72 Vega. The harness has two knock sensor plugs but the driver side knock sensor location is blocked by my header. What should I do? Leave the knock sensor disconnected or solder both sensor wires together and just run the one sensor from the passenger side near the starter?

Thanks,
Colin

My 1993 only has one sensor, on the passenger side. I would contact Painless about the wiring, it could be the wrong harness.

I believe the harness has been discontinued. It's 60501 and I bought it a few years ago. I thought it was weird, too, because this harness is basically a TPI harness with a few minor changes.

Thanks,
Colin

The Corvettes and (I believe) the B-Body LT1's had dual knock sensors. If you are using an F-Body PCM, its only expecting a single knock sensor to be connected.

Didn't 93 NOT have a knock sensor? I could be wrong, but I heard somewhere they didn't.

You're wrong. 93 didn't have a removable knock module.

I knew that. They had the E-proms. Did they have the threaded one on the passenger side of the block?

The 93's are exactly the same as all the other years, with regard to the location of the knock sensor.

Re: Can only run one knock sensor..

Thanks for the help, guys. I have threaded locations on both sides of my block. I called Painless and they said one of the knock sensors is redundant and I can either snip it, solder the two wires together, or remove one from the harness by unpinning it from the harness at the PCM. I haven't decided which is best yet as I haven't looked at a PCM pinout.
