Can JB Weld seal a hole the size of a pinhead on my A/C line???

I accidently made a very small hole in the A/C line. It lost all the pressure, can I put JB weld to seal the hole?

Cool

My only question would be as to how long it would hold under the pressure. Other that that it would seem fine

It should work fine. I don't think there's alot of pressure in the AC system anyway.

you should take it to a exhaust shop and have them tig a little weld on it that should be pretty cheap to

i'm not sure you want to put extreme heat near any a/c system, even if you think the refrigerant is gone. i'm betting that the welder would weld your a/c right after your gas tank.

I'm not sure anything can be done but replace that part...I seriously doubt JB Weld is going to hold under that pressure and temperature variation.

my stepfather did the same thing to my mother 95 olds cutlass SL, the JB weld lasted about two days and they were out the money for the recharge. They ended up buying the part to replace. I guess it mostly matters wheither it is on the high pressure or low pressure side, hers happened to be on the high side. Good luck!

Dammit I don't wanna replace that... What about RTV, then JB Weld, then a piece of rubber hosing with a clamp around it real tight? Would that hold the pressure??? I know this stupid little hole is not going to make me replace the whole thing.

>Stop being cheap and fix it right !
All I can say is if you nickle and dime this it will get more expensive later down the road .
examples :
1) you temp fix the hose , but it continues to leak ... you have to continue to refill the R134 and oil , and not to mention that you will have to clean the mess (if any) .
2) you refuse to use the A/C and let it "ride" for a while without any refriderant and the A/C compressor dies from no lubrication ( big $$$) while you sweat like a pig in Cali sun .
3) you remove the A/C and get a 1LE A/C delete bracket ... (big $$$) .
all I can say is bite the bullet , and buy the correct hose (AutoZone , Advanced Auto , www.gmpartsdirect.com , GM dealer)

It's been like that for a few months now... I don't drive it that much. So now my A/C compressor could be bad... that's friggin ridiculous, and i'm not cheap but you can't blame me for trying to find a cheap way to fix it. If it really calls for it I will replace the part.

you have got to be kidding, I think that that has topped the list for the most cheaply rigged project ever. I can't believe that didn't break.

Tried JB weld on my AC line last year. Blew off within the week.

Looking for a new condensor tube now.
