Can I use a remote from a 2000 firebird?

I saw on shoebox's page how to reprogram remotes and was wondering if this will work (the kind of remote with the panic button, i know the panic button wont do anything) I have one the car came with and this new one to program so will it work?

My remote has seen better days so I just used the outside of a 2001 remote and put the guts of mine in it. The panic button will work.

But a 1994 has a different type of remote...

Changes were made in 1996.
