Can I use a 239/245 112lsa cam w/my 355?

1.6 rockers changes the total lift. So the 847 for example is .539/.558 @ 1.5. If you use 1.6 rockers then your lift becomes .575/.595. This means you will need springs that can stand up to that lift as well, and be sure that you will have enough room under your valve covers.

Here's what I'm running
355ci
-balanced rotating assembly
-ross forged pistons
-eagle Ibeam rods
-ARP main studs+head bolts
-stock heads port match comp ratio 11to1
-cloyes double roller timing chain
-cc1.6 RR,pushrods,springs,rocker studs
-mezeire HD electric water pump
-hooker LT coated headers
-clevitte H-series bearings
I plan on getting 987 springs for the new cam setup. I don't really give a flip about streetability. I'm only going to drive the car a few miles a year. Which on will be quicker in the 1/4 w/my setup?

How can you know what springs you are gonna run before you select a cam? I know i wouldn't run a GM847 with 1.6 RR's and comp 987's.

Sorry, but not to sound like an ***, but I'll never understand how people can just select a cam for their car and not even know what this stuff means. The Lifters won't affect the valve lift. I know some people do it but i don't think i would run a .600 spring with a cam and rocker that produce .595 lift, which i believe is what the 847 has. Its been a while since i did the numbers.

Also i don't know what springs you are running now but if your heads haven't been machined for larger spring seats then you will have to yank your heads off. Either that or grind on the 987 seats for them to fit.

I thuoght that the 977's and 987's used the same size seats. And I believe I currently have 977's. So if I got 987's, I think they would fit fine.
I do know that if I used the 987's with stock lifters, the lifters would collapse. And I do know the 987 even with comp r lifters wouldn't be all that safe with a gm847. I'm not completely ignorant. But I am pretty ignorant I will admit.

Yes, but don't you agree that if I have 977's right now on my cc305 and stock lifters, that I must upgrade to different lifters if I want to keep the 977's?
