Can I test an Optispark out of the car?
I got a new 1995 complete Optispark from the local GM dealer at "wholesale" for $650 Cdn. versus $800 retail. Still way off the U.S. prices.
Within a week it got wet - now I have replaced the venting system and modified it so it can't suck in moist air from the K&N intake. I also replaced the cam seal and a suspect heater hose.
I currently have the Optispark unit out and dried it with compressed air.
Is there any way I can test this complete Optispark while it is out of the car?
It has been my experience that damp ones act up under load or high rpm.
Do I have to reinstall it and the water pump to find out if I saved it by drying it out in time?

Re: Can I test an Optispark out of the car?
$650 Canadian...a vented opti should be around $270 US; check with Jason Cromer or Dal.
I would just let it dry in the sun for a day or 2 then reinstall; don't know of a bench test method.
