can I take off the mat under the hood of my car? any problems?

well I noticed my alternator fan ripped up the insulation mat on the underside of my hood. It threw material all over my engine bay, and the back of the alternator was sucking in some of the fibers.

Would anything get hurt if I just took the matting off completely?

Should I replace it or just leave it off?

it would be nice if the aftermarket had a more stylish hood mat available for our car (like the grand nationals have) maybe with a big bowtie or something on it.

to answer your question i wouldnt just take it off, youre gonna have to replace it, it absorbs alot of the heat from the engine and if you remove it then you could end damaging the hood or somethin, just a thought?

Try this, it looks a lot better than the factory asbestos like crap...
