Can I relocate my coil and/or module?

Im wondering if you can relocate the coil and module to somewhere else in the engine compartment. Maybe to somewhere cooler because all that heat from the engine directly on it makes me worry.

yeah, a lot of people relocate the coil to the driverside inner fender. just modify a plug wire so it will reach. lots of people on here have done that mod due to a heat soaked coil.

Ok, anyone have pics of it relocated? I want to see how it should look before I do it. Can I relocate the module too or just the coil?

I don't know that I would worry about it, but you can easily do this to get it off the head surface.

The coil wire should be as short as possible. Relocating it to the fenderwell is going to create a long wire. When relocating, I would do the coil/ICM as a unit in the bracket.

I went a bit further with Rob's idea, and put a piece of aluminum plate behind the bracket [I still used spacers], which should dissipate even more heat, and possibly cure that 'ICM gets hotter than head after shutoff' prob..

Thanks, I'll try using spacers tomorrow. If anyone has pics of their coil relocated, I'd like to see them.
