I think I'm as fast as I'm going to go with out touching the motor for my tracks around here. Of course most of the guys running 12's are in hard top cars and my convertible weighs about 300 or so more than a hard top so if every 100 lbs. is a .10 of a second then I could be 12's in a hard top? maybe.
Well put... i am a firm believer in the elevation factor. I had a friend who went to school in florida that had a 97 z with a lot of bolt ons and ran his best of 13.1xx i believe, but when he ever raced up here (Illinois, well technically, we raced in Wisconsin) he never got better than a 13.6-13.7 So i would have to say that there are a lot of factors that contribute than sheer mods... also depends on the actual quality of track as well. If anyone has ever been to Wisconsin and went to Great Lakes Dragaway... they know what we are talkin about when we say that track conditions come into play, really really bad track IMOP.

if your at sea level, you should be able to do it with gears, CAI, exhaust, tune, and a converter

i'd definatly get 3.73's at least cause that makes the car a lot more fun to drive

Re: Can I Get Into the 12's....?

Where are you people running to get low 13's and high 12's with free mods and minor bolt ons? I am all sorts of confused. I understand that track condition and elevatin comes into play, but ****. I should be in the high 11's if I can get it down to the pavement. Am I over doing it with the 11's? If my car could run 12's with free mods and minor bolts ons, I could have saved some dough. Let me know what you think I would be running in good conditions. I race at Indy Raceway Park, so you know the track is quality. I have all the mods in the sig.

Mayytbz28: Do you have time slips for those mid 13's? That seems like a stretch. Not trying to be a punk, but I am totally shocked.

Let me know, I would like some kind of number to expect here. I haven't had the car down the track since the new top end.

i ran the 13.4's at rockingham dragway in NC, thursday night i was running 13.3's at fayetteville motorsports park, NC with just 3.73's, CAI, and catback exhaust and BFG drag radials, both tracks are right at sea level

do you know the elevation of indy? i'd think with good tires you should be low 12's or high 11's, have you run it yet?

I think the other guy is right. You should be running 12s. I have the same mods as you without the GMAF and I'm on street tires running the time's in my sig.
