my car is titles as 97, but its a 96 production (august production) so i have the 96 gauges... which is the older style odometer... i know the dash is same as 98 and up (unlike camaros) so I wont have to change the whole dash... but will it work if i just get a 98 (97 too?) gauge, and install it? i think they have diff vattages, and i can burn the panel if its wrong.... (i know that was an issue when u tried to upgrage v6 one to a v8 one... it had to be same year)

so all in short... can i upgrade my 96 trans am's gauge to 98? (or 97 i dunno if TAs have the newe gauge on 97s)

i'm talking about a straight swap, no messing around with cables and stuff
