Deleting them would mean deleting the AIR injection system. You'll need to remove the AIR pump, all subsequent lines, and plug the fitting on the intake ducting with a vacuum cap. One of the tubes will need to be destroyed in order to remove it (the one that crosses over under the timing cover).

Are there any harmful backdraws to deleting all this?

the delete sounds simple enough.

No drawbacks whatsoever really. Make sure there is a good fuse in the system and you shouldn't get an SES light.

The plugs on the exhaust manifolds are an M22 pitch. You'll need an appropriately-sized pipe plug (or oil drain plug).

thanks ram. just to clarify one last time, the only plugs that need to be plugged, are the ones that connect to the exhaust manifolds, or headers, and the one on the intake manifold. the rest of the hoses can just be disconnected and no harm done correct?

It's not on the intake manifold, it's on the intake ducting. Other then that, yep!

i just removed all of this yesterday, and had to take small black plastic vaccuum lines off....one connected from the air valve attached to the hose for the air pump and connected to a black plastic part with a grey cap above the coil. do i need to cap that off?? also, removed EGR and there was a line that ran from the EGR valve to another plastic part on driver's side rear head area. do i need to cap that off as well?

You need to plug any open vacuum ports.

You may not pass a visual emissions inspection.

yeah i had already plugged the opening on my cold air intake, and the vacuum port on the intake manifold where the "T" for the egr solenoid and vacuum solenoid came from.

The confusion results from the fact that you (khojo16) have a 96, with the vacuum lines, and the original poster has a 94, that doesn't have the vacuum line associated with the AIR system. It gets even more confucing if a 95-97 had the "AIR pump recall" done. That added a vacuum line. But the recall did not apply to 94.
