can i change a 96 OBD2 to an OBD1 pcm?
Yes, its a plug in deal. You'll lose a little coolant when you take the knock sensor out (pass side of block), but if you are ready with the new one you can stick it in quick and not even have to drain the coolant. The whole thing will take about 10 minutes.
Solder a resistor in the pcm and skip the knock sensor swap. A resistor is alot cheaper than a knock sensor, and if you frag your pcm you wont be on foot cause you can plug your old one in and go. do a search in the pcm and diagnostic section, i have done this several times and never had a failure.
However, it wont work with either of the ls cars you have in your sig.
