Can headers actually warp over time?

Can headers actually warp over time?
I'm having a problem with my drivers side headers. About every 3-4 months I have to replace the header gaskets because of an annoying ticking. It goes away but then comes right back slowly over the next few months. Can they actually warp or do they make a thicker header gasket I could use?
