can a cc305 make 350rwhp?
can a cc305 make 350rwhp?
i was told with the right parts i could make 350ish at the tires with the 305 on stock heads. i was gonna add a 52mm TB and some other little bolt ons to what i have all ready, what do you guys think i can make for power?
Re: can a cc305 make 350rwhp?
i didnt think so, i actually think he was talkin at the motor cause it was CMS i was calling about their cam package and not sure if i should go with the 305 or 306 for the cam.
Re: can a cc305 make 350rwhp?
There are a few cams out there that can do 350rwhp+ The GM847 has been shown to, the CC306 sometimes and then I have a custom that does it. The 847 and the 306 IMHO give to much midrange up to get that HP number, you can get more TQ and the same or more HP with a custom.
You should worry about getting the car to 295-300rwhp before you do the cam, that way you will get 350rwhp+, usually you can do this with a CAI, Tuing, Good LT's and a good exhaust system.

Re: can a cc305 make 350rwhp?
I was. I just had a lot of bad luck. I put the cam in with great results on my old motor and a cam bearing got screwed. Motor had 115,000 miles on it. Then got a new block from a buddy with 15,000 miles and put that together with new rings and bearings and put my top end on it and I had oil leaking out of the exhaust and im gonna pull that motor out this weekend. So now im just gonna rebuild my old block since I think this freebie I got had a crack or one of the pistons had a crack or was weakened and just stroke it. It pulled hard in my old motor, im just tired of breaking things and want a reliable car

All of those have been done. Have headers, dual snorkel setup, madz28 tune, aluminum driveshaft, 3" exhaust, and a spohn torque arm. I have all the necessary upgrades, I just want to make about 380rwhp in the midrange level. I want to run low 12's with my new 383. No more revving to the moon for me.
Re: can a cc305 make 350rwhp?
i have no clue why my car isnt making 300 or so at the rear tires, i have the longtubes, ory, hooker catback, cai, and a tune from madz28. my only guess is A: the computer didnt correct enough the night i dynoed due to the extreme cold temps out side(dynos right new a bay door, it was open) or the egr is causeing me to lose power, its disabled but not workin right, and im gonna get block off plates.
Re: can a cc305 make 350rwhp?
I rolled 336 rwhp with my CC305 on stock heads in my '97. This was with decent tune but could have been better. I'd say 340 rwhp from the cc305 is a pretty safe bet with a good tune and the right setup. If you do all the little pesky bolt-ons, 345-350 could be made with the cc305 but you will have extracted all the power that cam has to offer at that point (on stock heads). A GM847 should make ~ 10-15 more rwhp than the cc305 and has very good driveability. I ran both of these cams in my '97 and the GM847 was considerably faster with almost no sacrifice in driveability over the cc305.
