Can a bad intake manifold leak cause a flutter/stumbling??
It mainly happens when i hold the throttle steady. If im on the gsa more than halfway or at WOT it doesnt do it but sitll feels like its lacking power. Could it be a vacume leak from the intake manifold causing the low rpms stumble?
EDIT: BTW i get an occasional SES light but its only temporary. WHen it comes on at while at idle the rpms raise for a second and go back down. A min later the light will go back off.

Yes, I would think that a vacuum leak from the intake could definitely cause a stumble. Dpeneding on whether the leak is at the top/bottom, you could also be sucking up oil from the lifter valley and fouling your plugs.

could the oil on top be from valve covers?
LT1's are bad for the rear intake oil leak, but that shouldn't hurt your performance that bad. What would hurt it is if the gasket material around the intake ports in the head/intake were leaking and sucking up air/oil.

There is oil around the opti but it doesnt look like it would get into the opti the way it is. But I could be wrong. It just feels more like a vacume leak because i get a huge surge if I hold the throttle steady. It will surge forward then start fluttering like sound. Kinda like a machine gun sound.
Anytime there is air entering your cylinders that is not measured by the MAF (i.e. vacuum leak) your A/F will be off and could cause such behavior. You could try the old carb cleaner trick if you think its a leak around the intake.
