can Bad gas cause stumbling, sputter?

first off, car has been sitting for about 1-2 months.
new optispark installed...i made sure it was aligned, and also that all wires were as tight as possible on the opti....

car starts up fine, idles fine, but under acceleration, it feels like it has a slight misfire, kinda clears up above 3k rpm, but under it sputters a bit.

could this be bad gas, i have hess in it , and i know the 10% ethanol can go bad after a while? i even replaced one of the corroded wires, (it was corroded at the old optispark), but the problem did not go away. i will have checked all wires to make sure they are on the new optispark real good, i will re check tho,

but after that, i am thinking that my gas has gone bad...could the above be a symptom of bad gas???? any info...also how do i drain the tank>!?!

thanks for any answers, insight...

Bad gas can do that I think, but if its only been sitting for 2 months, I dout its the gas. My car has been sitting for 6 months and it ran ok. Do you use 93?

i am thinking its the gas...i have done an opti at least 4 times so i know i can put the car back together right...plus i calculated and the car has been sitting for AT LEAST 2 months, and whats in the tank is a mix of 91 and 93...its so damn expensive!!!

i will drain the tank tomorrow (via fuel pump) and see what happens,,,at least that way i can rule out the gas,...and then go from there...

thanks

you should double check your plug wires, dont forget the coil to opti wire.
Run the car in the dark and look at all the wires you should not see any sparks jumping. Use a inspection mirror if you have to.

I had some stale fuel in my 454SS truck. It would occasionally miss at low RPMs/low speeds around town, but run near normal at highway speed. It was not a constant miss, but rather an abrupt miss every minute or two. Again this was at light load or at idle. I believe it was stale fuel causing the problem, because once I refueled with fresh gas, it ran fine.

put fresh gas in and its still missing. Checked the wires at the opti and they all seem good. I will check it in the dark to see if anything is arcing.
Next thing I will check is coil IM and see If that clears anything up. After that I may think pc m to opti wire.
Anyother ideas. I'd hate to think that I put the opti in wrong. But I have done these before and they only go on one way right?
Thanks.

double check that the plug wires are going to the correct location. seen it hundred times where people think they have them in the right cylinder but find out one was wrong. #1 and #7 can look the same at a quick glance
