long story short, had my crankshaft break on my 383 stroker, it took out my new McLeod clutch and im gonna buy a new clutch and flywheel. and wanna buy this same flywheel.
Are you sure you want an aluminum flywheel? Can be a bit more difficult to drive. Good for road racing, not for drag racing, or smooth launching on the street. Does the flywheel have the butterfly weight, required to compensate for missing material from a 1-piece RMS crankshaft rear flange? Was the rotating assembly balanced with the flywheel? Without knowing all the info on the engine, hard for anyone to give you a part #. My experience is limited to the stock flywheel, and the Street Twin steel flywheel.
yeah im feeling the stock steel flywheel with the super street mcleod? will that work out? im gonna have so much wrapped up into this rebuild i really cant afford that twin disk 1,000 dollar clutch. could u send me a link to buy the steel flywheel.
is has an evgraving number c4-5678. car was an autocross/street car. had a cooks performance 383 stroker high compression motor, mildly built t56, my mechanic is putting in a new eagle crankshaft that was $700+ from summit. its a 327 block. i got all the paper work on the motor*like specs, clearances,* its fully built all the way around. rear end, 285's all the way around on 11" rims, totally a nice nice car. and btw. i had just had the mcleod clutch put in(by another mechanic) and i didnt even have 100 miles on the new clutch when it did break the crankshaft, i know he half assed a x didnt get the fly wheel resurfaced(he said it looked so good it didnt need it" 😏 wondering if the "clutch job" had something to do with my crank breaking into 2. it btoke about 6-8 inches from the back of the crank
I doubt GM offers an OEM flywheel for the LT1. Look at JEG's or Summit.
I pulled my stocker 20+ years ago, to install the Street Twin behind an 800 HP nitrous build. Original flywheel was sold, and a few years later sold the Street Twin/T56 to someone for an A4 to T56 conversion Currently running a TH400. I'm out of touch with stock pars.
PS: entire car is listed for sale in the Marketplace.
