It is possibly a special edition V6, they existed. I spoke with my dealer and he confirmed that they did in fact make a special V6 in 1994, it had two extra cylinders than the standard version.
Anyway even if it was a B4C like some of you have proposed, with the V6 badges and Z28 underneath, it still wouldn't beat a lightning stock.
I think 1 or 2 people involved in this discussion are full of it! Entertaining read anyway.

Just to keep you guys posting on this. She is looking up her vin# today and is going to let me know what it says. The car was damaged when she got it and she put it all back together. She was basically missing the front end which had been torn apart in a wreck. When I told her that there was no special v6 she said humm... and told me she was going to do some investigating on her car. For some reason though she still won't tell me whats under the hood. I'm not really that concerned anymore but you guys seam to enjoy this post. By the way I'm in Abilene.
I've never met or seen this girl and already I love her. She has you so messed up you don't know if your comming or going.
As far as sound, I've never seen a V6 car that sounded anything like a V8 or vise versa. Loudness has nothing to do with it. All V6 engines sound different than V8s. The 3.1-3.4L V6s found in the early cars also sound like a blender full of rocks. I could find one of these cars blindfolded. If it's a transplanted 3.8L with a blower of turbo, I've seen these cars run in the 11s properly set up. But they still don't sount anything like a V8.
If it has a V6, you don't need the hood up to know this. JUst look under the car. Unless it's lowered, it should be no problem. Don't worry about VIN numbers because the original engine is most likely long gone. Short of nitrous and a blower, a 3.4L could NEVER hang with a LT1 with even the lamest driver at the wheel.
Tell her to lift the hood, if it's got a V6 you'll give her $20. (trying to cut your losses)

There is some girl here in my town that has some kind of special edition v-6. She has like a 99 or 2000 firebird and supposedly this "special edition v6 is good for like another 5hp. She pulled up next to me and took off, then I put it to the floor and left her in the dust, actually dont even think I floored it. I dont think that this girl has a v-6, I think it is probably an ls1, they are much more quiet stock than an Lt1 so they are very sneeky.

she probably wont pop the hood cuz she doesnt know how and doesnt wanna look stupid

LMFAO....a special edition v6 existed...it had 2 extra cylinders....quite frankly if it had 2 extra cylinders it's not called a v6 (special edition or not). You know what it's called......A FREAKING V8.. if you were being sarcastic I apologize...if you were being serious you need to go back to your dealer and kick him in the ***** for being a dam DUMBASS...LOL
