Just make sure you think the whole package through before you go buying parts. You don't want to end up with a mismatched car that you hate.

Re: Camshaft Set-up

Yeah I am definately gonna think everything through. The gears is the only thing I am not sure of. Other than that i really like the set-up I have picked out. I will have to get me a better clutch though, my stocker prob wont hold up to well to those kind of rpm's for very long.

Well if you don't like 4.10's then I don't think you will like the 306

Re: Camshaft Set-up

I just don't like the way the 4.10's run me out of gear at a lower speed. I mean I like the fact that I get there quicker, but I am running out of 5th where I used to just be hitting it.

Re: Camshaft Set-up

the 306 is going to have a higher narrower RPM range to run it in so you will not like that without the gears. It's going to drive more like a import with that cam.

Re: Camshaft Set-up

It would be awesome if the clutch would hold, but I have had a stock clutch explode on me in this car with just the few bolt on's I have. Maybe I will like the 4.10's once I do the cam since it will be revving higher.

Re: Camshaft Set-up

A buddy of mine has 3.42s and a cc306 on stock heads. No matter how he launches it the best 60' to date is a 1.9x It either bogs or spins. I would definitely suggest keeping the 4.10s with a cc306. Also remember that your rpm range will be extended and that will pull 4th to ~121-122mph if you pull to 6500rpm.

Yeah it is going to be a fun set-up. Right now I am contemplating on whether or not to just spend the money and get an LE2 set-up.

Thats what I was thinking to, but i dunno, I know the cam only wont be fast enough for me lol. But I reallr dont have the extra cash for heads, so I will probably just do the cam.
