That's my thought on it too, then again I only average 500 miles a year. Thing with me was, money was a little tight when the beehives went on because of other things being done to the car while it was in the shop.

 

Ok, yes, I didn't mean just all out race cars, I meant they're not recommended for DD cars. If you're using the beehives, they don't save enough weight for me to spend that much extra money on a set. I got them for dirt cheap with my springs, so I'm using them.

 

I don't think Im getting the titanium retainers, right now I still put around 8 or 9k a year in mileage. I know fixing the intake leak isn't a huge part of the cam swap process, but if I am in there already, then I might as well do something worthwhile. I was planning upgrading to the 7/16 studs and rockers.

As far as checking out the pcv system, what all would that include. Only thing I know about that system is I change the valve every year.

 

If all you're doing is changing the intake, just do some 1.6RR for now and replace the lifters. That's my advice, but if it were me, I'd probably do a cam too... haha

 

Actually I think I am changing my mind here. I am still going to upgrade the valvetrain, but instead of the cam right now, I'm going to do some long tubes. To be honest I always wanted a 355, so there is no reason to put a bunch of money into the cam when it would probably change anyways. With that said, would these lifters work for my car?

NO! You need hydraulic ROLLER lifters.

 

do yourself a favor and get the LS7 lifters. (Yes they will work) I hear they are an extremely nice lifter for a bargain basement price, $220 shipped from SDPC

SDPC is currently backordered on those. I'd wait until you did the 355 before you need to spend that kind of money.

Those aren't LS7 lifters they are the gmpp caddy race lifters. The LS7's are only $100.

 

Ok, so which lifter would be the better one out of the two, the LS7, or the comp cams? They both are around the same price, 100 for LS7 and 120 for Comps.

 

Make sure the LS7 ones will fit, but I'd go with Comp myself.
