Camshaft bolt Stripped?? help please

I am in the middle of an optispark swap and the 3 bolts that you see right when you take the opti of are all loose(3 bolts that hold the cam in place i think). One was stripped and the other two are in bad shape. Can i just replace the two bolts in place without any problems??? I have had a bad metallic knocking noise and apparently i have found the source. Is this common someone please shed some light for me.

Are you talking about the three bolts that hold the camshaft sprocket to the cam? How did they come loose and/or stripped? If they break, you'd be in deep trouble. I'd recommend pulling off the timing cover and getting a better visual inspection of what's going on.

Alright i will take off the timing cover and have a look. Yes i am referring to the 3 bolts that hold the cam sprocket on. I am about to take a trip to Lowes and see if they have the bolts that match.

Would i need to order those bolts from the factory??

If you have stripped threads, you will have to heli-coil or get a new cam.
