which camshaft?
the dragstrip was in orlando,fl and it was a pretty hot day around noonish and i was thinkin of dooing a gear swap because my rear bearings need replacing so im probably goin to change the gears then which gears would be best because its also a daily driver?
Most people with m6 tranny's use 4.10's. Most people with A4's use 3.73's. I am just one of the few with a A4 that uses 4'10's. 4.10's are also more likely to destroy the stock 10 bolt. You have to decide what you want. I think that 3.73's are what you would want.
go back to the track at night if you live in fla. just too hot otherwise. Especially in the summer. Now as for your car:
1. get a 160 thermostat and a manual cooling fan switch. The heat could be killing your times. Also pick up a bottle of water wetter or cool ice. That will control your temps. LT1's are very bad with heat.
2. If you have headers and exhaust you should be in the 13's. You should be making the power to trap 104-105, if you arent something may be up with your car. Get a tune up. I mean everything.
3. Get some 1.6 rocker and lt4 springs if you want more hp. It will be all upper rpm power and wont effect your abiltiy to launch the car. Parts will be 325. You should upgrade your the rest of the valvetrain too. But you dont have to, I would if you have high miles.
4. To really take advantage of gears your going to need dr's, and some basic suspension mods. (sfc, lca) I would go back and get some experience under you belt, like i said before you already have plenty of power to get into the 13's. The gears are going to make the car even harder to launch. Get a set of salad shooters in the FS section for 50,75 or whatever and get mickey thompson dr's. They should solve any traction issues. I would really do these as your next mod along with 1. It should help things alot.
5. Ditch the flowmaster, get another muffler to replace it. It sounds good but does not flow for ****. I used to have it so i know why you may like it. I switched to a hooker aerochamer, $100 flows much better. You have plenty of other options tho.
6. I dont want to come off as a dick but learn to drive. Drag racing is like golf, it involves time, dedication, effort, money. Do those things and you will get better.
good luck

Solmarao is right. LCA's, Relocation Brackets, and Sub-Frame Connectors are important. They should also be some of the first thing you buy for your car. The LCA's and Relo. brackets will help tracktion and eliminate wheel-hop. The Sub-Frame Connectors will help stiffen up the car and eliminate chassie flex. Check in the "Supporting Vendor Group Purchases & Sales" section. You can find some good deals in there.
I understand that you have a 6spd, but your car should be deep in the 13's with what you have done to the car. My car stock with just a flowmaster muffler (was on there when I bought the car) went 13.7 all day. Add a CAI and air foil the car went 13.5 all day. I'm in Florida as well... and not one of the better tracks in Florida, the only track my car has ever been to is Orlando Speed World.
yea the times are from my first time ever drag racing, and i forgot to put on the thing that shows my parts i have and edlbrock torque arm, sfc, lca, and a 160* thermo and i went to the same drag strip in orlando i went for funday sunday, and the other day i found out i had a manual fan switch.
