Cammed LT1's?

Nice numbers there, one day I hope I get my GTP to that level. I will have to stick with the Z for now though. I hate to start tearing apart a new motor for heads and a cam and all that. But, it won't always be new
If you are getting ready to race a cammed LT1, put on the little pulley and do your thing.
If your thinking of getting an LT1 and doing a little work to it, I highly recommend the combination.
Do a search on here for cams and you should get all kinds of info. for the track and hp numbers.

This guy in our local car club ( 13secgtp is his CZ28 screen name) has his GTP down to 13.45 at 10X.XX MPH last week at Norwalk. His car is pretty sick and takes a lot of people by suprise. He's got pullies, exhaust, intake, gears, programing, and other stuff I can't remember. They can be made fast! His car runs circles around mine in the 1/4..... for now
Just thought I'd share!
Later,
Mike

There is always a cople quick GTPs at Dragway42 also. Yday one was running 13.1 @ 104.
Here are my stock heads, converter, and 2.73 gears #s for now. A little work with the same setup should net me 12s @109 or clos to it. I plan on going 11s with stall/gears/cam

My car is still stock wieght. In fact, I would guess that it may be 50 to 70 lbs over stock when you add in the KBDD subframe connectors as well as a few other things.
My time of 12.96 can be improved on with practice but each pass I ran was consistantly 108.# mph. This was my first trip to the track in two years and my third trip ever. Someday I'd like to hit low 12's but it would take some spending.
The difference in trap speed between our cars be attributed to different cams and the fact that you have ported heads. I also see that your car ran pretty good stock while mine ran a 14.2 @ 98mph my first two times to the track.

4 g's just in the motor...I bought my car for that...and a little wrench time in the shop....I have 8 second 1/8 mile on a stock motor...mildly stock...I have nothing crazy, just suspension parts, 4.10 Currie Rear (dirt cheap), and some other stuff.
Oh I wasnt saying your car was slow. I was saying that with your dyno and your times I cant believe that Im making that kind of power off a mild cam and heads that I payed 30.00 worth of stuff to port.
Please keep in mind that 6 speeds and autos will not produce the same rwhp with similar mods. My guess is that an auto will dyno between 15-25 horses less at the wheels . I dynoed at 345 rwhp with ported heads and a cc305ish cam. Times are in the sig.
