On a 93, you can flash the codes on the SES light, by shorting the pins in the ALDL connector. That is the only year LT1 you can do that on.

Courtesy of Shoebox (might want to look over his comprehensive LT1 website if you aren't familiar with it):

That doesn't matter. Once the SES light comes on, the code that turned it on is stored in the ECM and remains there until the problem goes away and does not happen again for about 50 "drive cycles". Even if the light has gone out, you can retrieve the code.

Looks like Code 43 and that's the Knock Sensor Circuit.

It's hard to read in the above picture link, but if you go to the source it's easier. The decode explanation is right there.

No. It just means there is a problem with the circuit. Bad wire, bad sensor, etc... something is wrong.

Do a search on here and you will find a detailed way to check for three different things concerning the problem. I just did them about a month ago, but mine somehow fixed itself!

As noted, its a problem with the electrical circuit, not actual knock. But when you have DTC 43, the ECM retards the timing significantly, to protect the engine in case there is knock. You are losing perfomance.
