This came out of my door... what is it?

This coil looking thing, and a screw were sitting in my door, behind my door panel. What are these?

It's just a screw. How did that fall out, and does it hurt anything?

Yeah, the window still works. But it makes a horrible scraping noise. It's not hurting the glass, but it's scraping against something.

Dude...I removed the flux capacitor from my car because it was giving me bad gas millage, and it dosn't look anything like that.

Looks like it's time to take apart the door.

Try looking inside the door with an inspection mirror. Maybe the regulator blew up on someone else before you got the car and they replaced it, but left parts in the bottom of the door.

flat wound spring

I thought about that as well, Thats why I asked him if it was working properly. Since he said it makes a bad noise I am willing to bet that it's from his regulator... but you never know

Yeah. I pulled my door panel off and stuck my head inside, and looked around. I saw where the flat wound spring is supposed to go, so I put it back on. The window still makes a terrible scraping noise, and when it goes all the way down, the spring falls off. There are a ton of small rivets and screws inside my door, but the window still works. I don't think I should be using it though..

Yeah, I suppose so. I'll just do it this weekend and look at that little guide shoebox left. Thanks a lot for the help.
