Power Window Thermal Bypass Tips

Just did the thermal bypass mod on my passsenger window. It works much better now, however its still not quite as fast as my drivers side. Think ill do the Relay mod soon

Some tips after doing this mod the 2nd time... mostly regarding motor replacement itself in the door...
  1. Drilling and widening the holes was easily done using a dremel with a small drill bit in it.
  2. Drilling out the rivets should be done VERY carefully, you just need to scrape the top off the rivets. I did this using a power drill with a 1/4" bit. The aluminum comes of very easily, its easy to over drill the holes!
  3. When lining up the new motor in, use a small phillips head screwdriver through the mounting holes to line up the motor while placing ther screws in. This was a HUGE help!
  4. When lining the screws up, instead of taping the screws on a screwdriver or using a magnetic screwdriver - i decided to slide one hand behind the first panel to guide the screw in while pushing using a screwdriver in the other hand.
  5. Some guides recommend bracing the window all the way up. I did this with the window fully down with no problems.

Hope this helps someone!
