I have a Camaro z28 heres want I have done to the car so far replaced the opti completely rebult the front in replaced oxegen senser and water pump thermostat and coolent tempenture senser and egr valve now the car wants to die when I put it in reverse or drive idles ruff don't no want could be the problem before I did all that the car ran fine but the automatic transmission goes into 1and 2 wont go into3 its a 4l60. any help please thankyou.

 

Not sure why you did what you to try and rectify not going into 3rd gear?

I verify you have the wires connected to the opti.

Is the check engine light on? if so check it for codes..

 

I would scan it for codes reguardless of sel light on or not because not all codes trip the light. You should also include the year on your car because variances between years and do a signature for easy reference(will help get more responses). Might give a little more info along the lines of how long its been acting up or if it has ran good since certain parts were changed(and if any were confirmed as the problem) also what brand of opti and was the rotor loctited? How is it off idle? If you kick the ac on at idle (given its charged up) what does it do?Posted from Camaroz28.com App for Android

 

I have a 1993 camaroz28 lt1 about turning on ac engine dies out and also engine lopes at idle with ac off and smokes out of the back I ghess to rich.

 

Did you scan it for codes as suggested above? It's very easy to scan a 93 for codes. If it ran fine before you replaced the Opyi, why did you replace it? Are you sure you indexed the splined shaft correctly? Are you sure you have all the plug wires on it in the correct order? What brand is the Opti?

Is it possible you disconnected the IAC valve at some point and forgot to reconnect it?

Yes, if the smoke is black it is rich. When does it smoke - at idle, under heavy acceleration, all the time?

Have you checked the fuel pressure?
