have you ever seen a cobra's dyno chart? when you look in the dictionary under "broad" a cobra's dyno chart is there.

to beat a stock cobra you'll need about 340 to the wheels and the means to put it to the ground. how many are stock though?

to beat a modded one you're gonna need something with *****. think forged 355 with really good heads, ported intake, and a nice sized cam. even with all that you might be trapping 118-120. they'll trap 120 with ease. take some weight out too.

that cobra was typically modded and look how close it was.

My buddy's '04 was just as flat as mine was; even though it's an overhead cam. I assume the blower is the reason for this.

what every one is saying is to beat a 03/04 cobra with a LT1 is you have to have more power than them...or have alot/alot/alot more mods than them.

Not true really, about the power.

You're pretty much gonna need a power adder if you're wanting to beat them without having something close to a built motor.

Just remember if you do the suspension right you can easily out 60ft a Cobra because of the IRS and not many swap to a solid.

Manufacturer ratings and reality are often not the same. Chevy said that my Z28 had 310hp at the flywheel; I would likely get nearly that on a chassis dyno.

Re: camaro vs. cobra

I dont think a big shot of nitrous is required.. Heck, my bolt on car is running faster traps than stock cobras with a measly 100 shot.

It can be done, but it's no trivial task. You're going to need about 400 rwhp to pull it off, and the suspension and tires to put that power on the ground.

Re: camaro vs. cobra

Cobras are badass, but if you think about it, I dunno, they are pretty weak for a supercharged v8. Until you swap a pulley the size of a nickel on them, then they are really impressive, but aren't they in bolt on/geared LS1 area when stock?
