Talking camaro LT1 chasing a bmw M3

hey guys i dont know if this has been posted before, but if you search on kazaa, you can find a video called 'bmw m3 vs police l1 camaro' its pretty awesome except that the driver in the m3 was only 16, so the cops wernt allowed to hit him or get too close or anything, so it looks like the m3 was burning the lt1. its definitely a great video to have. If you dont have kazaa, or cant find it, you can IM me ill send it. my IM is jibbie mcjib

forgot to mention the chase hits 150mph on an open highway. i love when the narrator says "when the bimmer guns it 240hp engine, the camaro answers back with 350 horses"

how can you be sure if he's wrong about the horsepower? im sure they dont use stock camaros. in fact, he said they they have performance chips in them. and sorry for using the wrong board. the lounge didnt seem like the right one to use as it pertains to misc things such as music etc. this subject is about the lt1 camaro in the video, and this board made most sense to me.

Its all good, but I'm 99% sure that he's referring to the c.i. of the engine 350 cubic inches. The cop camaros came with the B4c package which includes:

LT1 V8 5.7Liter (350cu in)
Sequential fuel injection
High flow stainless steel dual exhausts
Engine oil cooler
140 amp alternator (50amp @ idle)
6- Speed manual transmission w/overdrive(rare find) or Auto
3.42 ratio axle
Limited slip differential
Performance suspension
Front & rear stab. bars
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Power sport mirrors
Power hatch release
Power seat (6-way)
Rear window defroster
Fog lamps
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo Cassette
Premium Sound (Bose)
Dual Front Air Bags
PasskeyII security system
ABS 4wheel disc brakes
Rear Spoiler
Dual visor vanity mirrors
16" Alloy Wheels
Front & rear floor mats
Tilt Wheel

The only real difference is the exhaust, bigger alternator and suspension. The bigger alternator is simply for all the extra electronics that those cars have to run. Depending on the year.....but only 93's have "chips." I'm not at all trying to flame on you. Just educate you. Thats what this board is all about.

yea, ur probably right. although some police departments have a few highly modded unmarked sports cars for chasing purposes. i remember watching one of those car chase shows on FOX, and they had to bring out the chief's son's 5.0 pustang to keep up with some other car. anyway, on an unrelated note, how much HP approx would a '96 lt1 make with cold air intake and catback exhaust as the only mods? (stock is 285 if i recall corectly)

you can find that out by searching, but I think CAI gives you about 10 hp and catback about the same. The single best upgrade that I think you can make is LT headers. I think that 285hp is at the flywheel, but I'm not positive.

A little helpful hint.

"LT1 Tech" is for LT1 technical problems. If you post links to videos, which don't belong here, you are forcing the valid tech questions off the bottom of the page, where they are soon overlooked. Essentially, you are dissing your fellow LT1 owners by hurting their chances of getting a response to there real problems.

You might want to consider "The Lounge" for this kind of post. It certainly doesn't belong here.

If the Bimmer only had 240 hp then it was an old one. The new M3's have 333hp. DANG fast cars too...
