Cam and valvesprings: Rocker arm selection question

Hey, I'm using a cam with a duration of 233/239 with .577/.585 lift (with 1.6 rockers) and a 112 LSA.

My springs are the Crane 10308 dual coil valve springs. They are rated to 600 lift. I understand this cam is coming close to that rating with the 1.6 rockers.

Do you guys think it will be okay? Should I go ahead and get the 1.6s or would 1.5s be the way to go?

There is more too it than just lift. How steep the ramps are is important too.

Can you post the cam manufacturer so we can look up the lobe and get an idea of how aggressive it is, that or post the advertized and .200 duration numbers.

Sure, I have to get to the cam card. It is at home. I'll post it as soon as I get out of class.

It is a comp grind.

Looks like the Lunati Voodoo grind? If it's a comp cam they probably copied it.

Either way it's somewhat aggressive. You might be ok on lift, but I think the ramp rates would require something a little better. Hopefully someone more experienced will give their opinion.

Those must be some old or new lobes. They aren't in the catalog on their site. It is a custom grind cam, though. Eerily similar to the Lunati 60122 with more LSA. We would have to see the advertised durations to tell you whether the lobes were aggressive or not, but they seem as aggressive as the XFI lobes which require beehive style springs.

I'm not sure if the rockers matter when dealing with the ramp rates of the cam.

So you need to make sure you install it on a 109* centerline as well.

Looks to be moderately aggressive. Only 50* difference b/t advertised and .050" duration and above average lift for an LT1 cam.

You see how you have a 112+3 LSA? That means that the cam itself has 112* of LSA ground into it, but it was designed to be installed with 3 degrees of advance. 112-3=109* Centerline.
